Freek Bartels is toegevoegd aan de cast van Beauty and the Beast. Hij zal de rol van Gaston spelen.
Stage Entertainment maakte het nieuws vanochtend bekend via social media. Freek Bartels zal vanaf november dit jaar de rol van de zelfverzekerde en overijdele spierbundel spelen in de musicalproductie die door heel Nederland zal touren. Anouk Maas zal de mooie Belle spelen, maar wie gecast is voor het Beest is nog niet bekend.
Bartels was tot voor kort te zien in de musical Sonneveld in het DeLaMar, die eind vorige maand stopte. Verder is hij bekend van onder andere Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Petticoat en Lovestory.
In 2006-2007 werd de voorstelling Beauty and the Beast al een keer naar Nederland gehaald. Toen werd Gaston gespeeld door René van Kooten.
